Local fires couldn’t stop the dedicated middle school and high school advisors from Area F from coming together for the annual Advisors Conference held at Great Oak High School on September 11, 2024. The day was packed with workshops, discussions, and networking, all aimed at enhancing leadership programs across schools in the region.
The morning kicked off with a series of workshops focusing on key topics such as Classroom Organization, ASB Grading, using Google add-ons like Autocrat, Surviving the Audit, and Bridging PBIS with ASB programs. Attendees also learned about the Principles of Persuasion, providing them with practical tools to lead and influence their students effectively.
Midday, we were honored to welcome Jacob from LifeStream, who shared how schools can become vital community hubs for life-saving blood drives and fundraising opportunities. His presentation left attendees inspired to integrate these efforts into their school programs, combining leadership with community service.
The learning didn’t stop there. A SLAM session allowed advisors to share quick, impactful ideas for leadership success, followed by mini breakouts to address specific needs of middle and high schools. This collaborative space offered fresh insights into how to tackle daily challenges, ensuring each school can adapt and thrive.
To cap off the day, the group headed to Temecula Pizza Co. for the ultimate PD experience – an informal yet invaluable chance to continue discussions and brainstorm over pizza. This final session allowed advisors to relax, exchange laughter, and dive deep into strategies for the upcoming school year.
Overall, the conference was AWE-mazing! The spirit of collaboration and the energy shared among advisors were the perfect ingredients to help propel our leadership programs into a successful year ahead.
