At Fred Newhart Middle School, we have a wonderful school community with awesome teachers and staff. We also have an incredible leadership program that helps make our school a safe and welcoming place for all our students.

Within our leadership classes, we build a family and a community. We work well together to bring spirit and unity to our school’s student body. It is important to us that all students feel comfortable and safe at school. To create this safe space, we host various activities throughout the year. Each activity has a purpose, such as team building, collaboration, and partnership. Though students may not always know the deeper purpose behind the fun activities we organize, we strive to make them fun and enjoyable for everyone. We like to add different music, props, and prizes to enhance the experience. By mixing up our activities and adding different themes, we bring a large group of students together, allowing them to take a break from their assignments and tests and simply enjoy being at school. All students are welcome to join every activity, and we aim to make everyone feel included and safe to participate. In ASB, we work especially hard to make sure our students get the best activities to connect and have fun with others in the school community.

Some of the school’s most exciting activities are our dances. These events give students the chance to spend time with their classmates after school at themed dances. Our dances include games, photo opportunities, a DJ, and other fun, themed options—our last dance even featured a roaming magician! There’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes, with our ASB class dedicating many hours both during and after school. During dance season, ASB works extra hard to ensure the student body gets the type of event they want and deserve. This is where leadership really shines on campus. Without our student leadership classes, students wouldn’t play as big a role in creating memorable, enjoyable experiences during and after school.

Leadership classes are a key part of our school. The students in leadership are passionate about helping to make our school the best it can be. With support from our amazing teachers and staff, we’re able to achieve great things together. ASB is the spirit of the school, and we work hard to bring fun and excitement to campus. We’re also creating lifelong memories—for both ASB members and students who participate in our events. Being part of a leadership class on campus is a special experience, where students get to work together as a team. When we work as a team, we become unstoppable. Being a leader on campus is important, and having the opportunity to help others makes our school experience even better. Working to bring positivity to students’ lives helps everyone feel safe, valued, and connected. Leadership truly is the heart of our school and brings everyone together as part of our Panther Pack.
