On Thursday, March 13, our beloved CADA family star, Judy Fortenberry, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love. Her devoted husband of 56 years and eight months, former CADA Treasurer, Past Area C Coordinator & Hall of Famer Radon Fortenberry, was by her side during this sacred moment. Judy’s deep faith was a guiding light in her life, bringing her strength and joy, and those who knew her will remember her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering spirit.
As a CADA Hall of Fame Winner, a Bob Burton Award recipient, and a member of CADA for over 30 years, Judy’s legacy will forever be cherished by our family and the multitude of lives she touched.
Judy was not only Radon’s life partner but also a cherished mother of three, a grandmother of six, an outstanding and dedicated teacher, a loyal friend, the life of every party, and a true woman of God. She embodied the spirit of lifelong learning with her brilliant mind, the perseverance of a marathon runner, and the grace of a Renaissance lady.
Admired for her brilliance, humor, and genuine warmth, Judy enriched the lives of her students, colleagues, friends, and family alike. Her remarkable sense of humor, impeccable taste in food and wine, stylish flair, generous spirit, and unwavering commitment to a life of service left a lasting impression on everyone she met—she never met a stranger and delighted in every conversation.
Judy, you are deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
