The California Association of Directors of Activities (CADA), Area B, marked a significant milestone this fall with the launch of its First Ever New B Advisor Conference on October 10 at Monta Vista High School. Designed to empower and support the newest generation of Activities Directors, the conference gathered five enthusiastic advisors, all within their first or second years, alongside seasoned veterans who shared invaluable insights and experiences.
Throughout the day, these new advisors tackled essential topics such as managing finances, overseeing clubs, and building effective class structures. They also participated in hands-on sessions to address unique challenges at their specific sites, benefitting from the advice and problem-solving approaches of experienced mentors.
This groundbreaking conference is only the beginning. By establishing a space for ongoing guidance and mentorship, Area B aims to cultivate a strong foundation of support for its newest members. In the coming years, the Area B Council envisions expanding the New B Advisor Conference to schools across the Bay Area, helping advisors build lasting networks and enrich their programs for student leadership and activities.
