On October 15, 2024, the Area E Student Conference brought together over 1,600 leadership students and advisors at the Pasadena Convention Center for an impactful day of learning, connection, and inspiration. The conference featured twenty dynamic presenters covering a range of essential topics. The Area E Council was thrilled to welcome keynote speakers The Amazing Tei Street, the full impact of the “Throwdown” that many get to see at CADA Leadership Camps, and Kim Karr of #ICANHELP, whose messages captivated and motivated students and advisors alike.
Highlights included powerful presentations from students representing four different schools, insights from Past CADA Presidents (Janet Roberts, Geniel Moon) , and a wealth of knowledge shared by CIF (Jim Perry) representatives, educational organizations, and CASL students. The content was rich and diverse, with sessions on leadership styles, mental health, rally planning, school culture enhancement, and more, ensuring students gained valuable skills to implement in their schools. Attendees rotated through three workshops and a keynote, giving them a comprehensive experience across critical leadership areas. CASL Board members, Kaitlin Sakuma, Brroke Saavedra and Eunbee Ahn, Salvador Renteria, Tashvi Ratnani presented their CASL Workshops, along with other student leaders from Don Lugo High School, Rio Vista Junior High School, Chino Hills and Knight High School.
For advisors, the conference offered a dual benefit: access to inspiring sessions and the chance to connect and network with fellow leaders, while also learning more about CADA resources to support their programs. Students had opportunities to build connections, meeting peers from over 50 schools and representing grades from 5th to 12th. During lunch, SOS Entertainment turned up the energy with a mini dance party complete with music and lights, adding fun to the networking experience. The Area E Student Conference was a resounding success, packed with insights, interaction, and excitement. The Area E Council was thrilled by the turnout and the chance to share these experiences with so many dedicated students and advisors. We’re excited to continue supporting these schools and fostering a vibrant community through CADA.
