
From February 26 to March 1, 2025, the Town & Country Resort in San Diego transformed into a vibrant hub of unity and inspiration as the California Association of Directors of Activities (CADA) hosted its annual convention. Embracing the theme “CADAStock: Come Together,” the event celebrated collaboration, creativity, and the collective power of student leadership.

Keynote Speaker: Mike Smith Live
Renowned motivational speaker Mike Smith Live captivated attendees with his profound ability to make complex and challenging topics resonate on a personal level. His keynote address provided educators with actionable insights and heartfelt stories, reinforcing the importance of empathy and resilience in student leadership. Mike has always been a CADA favorite.
Live Performance by Plain White T’s
A standout moment of the convention was the electrifying live performance by the Grammy-nominated band, Plain White T’s. Their engaging set brought attendees together on the dance floor, embodying the very essence of the “Come Together” theme. As a side note, this writers favorite song is “1, 2, 3, 4”.
Presidential Message: Unity in Divisive Times
In a heartfelt address, the CADA President Elect, Lindsay Charron, emphasized the significance of unity, especially during these divisive times. The message of “Coming Together” resonated deeply, becoming a mantra for many attendees who are committed to fostering inclusive and supportive environments in their schools.
Farewell to Linda Westfall
The convention also marked the retirement of Linda Westfall, who has dedicated decades of service as CADA’s Secretary. Her unwavering commitment and contributions were honored with a touching tribute. Stepping into the role is Nestor R. Cerda, who brings fresh energy and vision to the position.
