The New to Convention session at the CADA Convention offered an energizing and welcoming experience for first-time attendees, hosted by the dynamic duo of Farrah Rigo Witt and Janet Roberts. This special gathering seamlessly blended engaging games with meaningful support, ensuring that newcomers felt both connected and encouraged as they embarked on their CADA journey.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet others in the same boat, break the ice through interactive activities, and gain valuable insights into making the most of their convention experience. Beyond the fun, the session provided a supportive space for questions, allowing participants to share ideas and learn from one another. The welcoming atmosphere, fueled by delicious desserts, chips, and pretzels, kept the energy high and the conversations flowing.
To further foster connections and guidance, 4-5 volunteers from each area council were assigned to lead small groups of 8-10 first-time attendees from their respective regions. This mentorship-style approach ensured that newcomers had a go-to resource for navigating the convention, getting questions answered, and feeling more at home within the CADA community. By pairing new attendees with experienced leaders, the session successfully created a supportive network that extended beyond the initial meeting and continued throughout the convention.
Whether attendees were looking for practical advice or simply a friendly face, the New to Convention session set the tone for a positive and engaging experience at CADA Convention.
